Miles Killebrew was born on May 10, 1993, in Henderson, Nevada, according to popular belief. The NFL star, however, was born in a community hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He attended Foothill High School in the Clark County School District and graduated in 2011. The gifted youngster lettered in football and basketball as a two-sport athlete.

Miles Killebrew was primarily a running back and wide receiver for his high school football team. He had 86 carries for 392 yards and 5 touchdowns, as well as 3 receiving touchdowns.

He had 77 tackles, 3 sacks, and 6 interceptions while playing defensive back. Killebrew was an all-state and all-city selection in high school, as well as the defensive MVP.

He also had two sacks, four forced fumbles, and three interceptions. Killebrew was elected captain of the football team in his senior year, and he delivered, leading the team with 132 tackles (74 solos).

He was named to the All-Big Sky First Team for defense and the All-Big Sky Second Team for his special team’s abilities that season.

Miles had 356 tackles (210 solos), six and a half tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, three interceptions, seven passes defended, and two defensive touchdowns during his four-year college career.

At the end of each season, the talented player was named All-Big Sky Honorable Mention (2012, 2013), All-Big Sky Second Team (2014), and All-Big Sky First Team (2015). By the end of his college career, he was projected to be drafted in the third or fourth round.

Miles earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Southern Utah University in April 2016.

The Detroit Lions selected him as the 111th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, making him the highest draft selection out of Southern Utah University.

While on his way to his college graduation, the talented youngster received word of his drafting via phone call. He signed a four-year, $2.34 million contract with the Lions in May 2016.
