In 2017, Cori was elected vice-chairperson of the Missouri Democratic Party Progressive Caucus. She was also in charge of organizing the Expect Us protests in St. Louis. In 2018, she ran for re-election to Missouri’s 1st Congressional District but was defeated in the Democratic primary.

Cori, on the other hand, defeated William Lacy Clay Jr. in the Democratic primary election in August 2020. She was elected president on January 4, 2021, after winning the general election on November 3, 2020.

Cori Bush: Relationship Status

She was married at the time, but she struggled more. Her husband’s behavior deteriorated over time, and he nearly killed her twice. She passed out after being choked the second time and was presumed dead.

In 2000, Cori gave birth to a son named Zion and a daughter named Angel in 2001. According to her interview, she ran for office in order to save the life of his son. Cori was a single mother who cared for her children on her own.
