Romanian-born political scientist, historian, and scholar who directed the Rosenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies in New York. Between 1963 and 2013, he published more than ten historical works on the Hungarian Jewish experience of the Holocaust. Randolph Braham was born on December 20, 1922 in Romania. He served as the historical advisor on the Steven Spielberg-produced, Oscar-winning documentary film The Last Days. He received his Ph.D. in political science in 1952 from New York’s New School for Social Research. He subsequently became a Professor of Political Science at the City University of New York.
