Her parents are Arthur and Gwen Berg, and she has two siblings, Elizabeth and John Berg. She graduated from Jesuit High School in 2002 and went on to attend Oregon State University to pursue a B.A. She began working in human resource management and volunteering shortly after graduating.

Her death was caused by the discovery of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, a rare identified disorder characterized by blood clotting in the arterial veins and induced by the vaccine.

Within a week or few days of the vaccination, symptoms of the disorder include severe pain, abdominal pain, breathing problems, chest pain, severe headache, and leg swelling.

Officials advise anyone experiencing symptoms of this rare disease to consult a professional physician. To date, there have been 47 confirmed cases of the syndrome in people who were vaccinated as a result of this Johnson & Johnson vaccination and later died as a result of the syndrome.

The majority of these cases have been seen in women under the age of 50, though some older women and men have also been affected.

Official Proclamation State public health agencies have highlighted the occurrence of the rare disease thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, citing that it affects nearly 7 out of every 1 million women aged 18 to 49.

According to the CDC, there appears to be a lower case in that age group of men and women over the age of 50, with less than one per million people vaccinated.

The potential harm of the Johnson & Johnson shots with this rare disease of blood clotting has been publicly identified, prompting a nationwide halt in the use of this vaccination. However, the CDC has also emphasized the vaccine’s benefits, which outweigh the risks.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the public health-Seattle & King County shared the risks of unvaccinated pandemic symptoms, stating that over the last 30 days in King County, unvaccinated people are 57 times more likely than vaccinated people of the same age.

Furthermore, the risk of being hospitalized is approximately 41 times higher for an unvaccinated person of the same age than for a vaccinated person of the same age. To date, there have been approximately 1,899 deaths in King County as a result of COVID-related illness.
