Kendra Scott’s Professional Career
Scott considered starting her own business, but first, she began making jewelry from home in Austin, Texas. In 2002, she established her company, Kendra Scott LLC.
After her oldest son was born, Kendra began with a $500 collection in her bedroom. She then went from store to store in Austin, selling boutiques. Finally, she had to deal with the situation in order to fulfill the orders.
She sold her samples in order to buy enough material. Scott’s designs were selected for Oscar de la Renta’s spring 2006 runway show 2005.
Her designs were also featured in Randolph Duke’s 2007 runway show. Due to the financial crisis, she was forced to close her business in 2007.
