Daniil Medvedev- Professional Career
Daniil began his career in 2015, when he won his first match in a Doubles event at the Kremlin Cup. In 2016, he made his singles debut at the Nice Open, but lost to Guido Pella.
In the same season, he defeated Horacio Zeballos in the 2016 Ricoh Open to win his first-ever ATP singles title.
He reached the ATP singles final the following year, but Roberto Bautista Agut defeated him in the final with a 6-3, 6-4 score.
In 2017, he won his first Grand Slam at Wimbledon, defeating Stan Wawrinka. He won the Sydney International Finals the following year, becoming the youngest ATP tournament winner since 2007.

In the same year, he won the 2018 Winston-Salem Open ATP final for the second time. In Tokyo, he won his third title, putting him at number 22 in the world and first in Russia. He rose to the rank of 16 later that year.

Daniil was unable to compete in the 2021 Monte Carlo Open due to a positive COVID19 test. He returned later in the season and lost the first match of the Halle Open 2021 to J.Struff.
Controversy
Daniil has often been under media attention due to his frequent behavior of insulting Umpires. He was disqualified in the second round of the 2016 Ricoh Open after making racist remarks about the unbiased umpire.
Furthermore, he continued his behavior at Wimbledon the following season, receiving a total fine of $14500 for insulting umpires and throwing coins under their chairs.
