Born Princess Wilhelmine in Potsdam, Prussia (modern-day Germany), she assumed the title of Wilhelmine of Prussia, Queen of the Netherlands following her marriage to King William I of the Netherlands. She ruled from 1815 until she died in 1837. Queen Wilhelmine was born on November 18, 1774, in Germany. She and Queen Juliana, born over a century apart, were both members of Dutch royalty.
