David was born into an American household in the city of Newport Beach. While most actors have to travel regularly because of shooting, public appearances, and premieres, David has been living such a life ever since he made his first steps. Acclimated to urban environs, he suddenly had to become used to living on a farm in Sequim, Washington. However, this rustic life only lasted two years until he found himself in his home state of California yet again. This time, the Denmans settled permanently in Orange County.

David was enrolled at Fountain Valley High School, interestingly into the same class as future director Craig Brewer and actor Omar Metwally.

After matriculating from high school at 19 years of age, David felt that acting is his true calling, therefore he went on to fulfill his aspirations, and took summer courses at the American Conservatory Theater, located in San Francisco, California.

Immediately after graduating, he started taking lessons at Orange Coast College, where he appeared in and directed over 20 shows in diverse genres, ranging from classic works by Shakespeare to more recent pieces.

Afterward, David became a student in the Drama Division of the famed Juilliard School in New York City, where his classmates included future great figures like Alan Tudyk and Sara Ramirez. In 1997, he obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
