Solomon initially pursues a career in rugby league, where he prefers to play the second row. 

He played in the NRL for a number of clubs, including the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (1994-1996), Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs (1997-1998), Balmain Tigers (1999), and others.

He has represented New South Wales (2003), Tonga (1995-2006), Australia (1997), and other countries. 

However, he left rugby league permanently after his contract with the London Broncos expired in December 2003.

Solomon began his boxing career in 2000, following a break from rugby league. 

On July 3, 2000, he made his professional debut against Ken Fuller, defeating him by knockout in Sydney, Australia’s Entertainment Centre.

Between the years 2000 and 2002, he competed in eight fights, winning all of them via knockout. 

He eventually returned to rugby league for another three years, during which time he also turned down a deal with US boxing promoter Don King.

He resumed his boxing career in March 2007, having previously competed in 30 matches. 

He won 24 of 30 fights, 21 by knockout, two by draw, and four by loss.

On August 16, 2009, he was defeated by Justin Whitehead in a split decision for the first time in his career.

Solomon won the WBA Oceana Heavyweight Championship in 2016 and the PABA Heavyweight Championship in 2015.
