J. launched his musical career with Bad Boy Records’ “Hitmen” in the 1990s.

He worked on many Bad Boy projects with label owner Sean Combs. He produced their song “Only You,” which featured The Notorious B.I.G.

J. also produced a number of songs for Notorious B.I.G.’s album “Life After Death,” including “Nasty Boy,” “Mo Money Mo Problems,” “Notorious Thugs,” “You’re Nobody,” “Another,” and “Last Day,” to name a few. All of these activities brought him fame and acclaim.

J. worked on the production of the song “I’ll Be Missing You” in 1997.

At the time, he also produced tracks for Mariah Carey’s album “Butterfly,” including “Honey,” “Breakdown,” “Babydoll,” and “Breakdown.”
