Aaron Rodgers’s Birth, Parents, Siblings & Education

Aaron Charles Rodgers was born on December 2, 1983, in Chico, California. Darla Leigh (née Pittman) and Edward Wesley Rodgers are his parents.

The family relocated to Ukiah, California, then to Beaverton, Oregon, before returning to Chico in 1997. He went to Pleasant Valley High School and played quarterback for two years.

He graduated from high school in 2002 and attended Butte Community College to play football. He did not receive much interest from Division I programs, which he attributes to his relatively unimpressive physical stature at the time.

He was able to transfer to the University of California, Berkeley after only one year of junior college thanks to his outstanding performance at Butte Community College, where he threw 26 touchdowns and led the team to a 10-1 record.

Aaron Rodgers’s Professional Career

Rodgers was named the Golden Bears’ starting quarterback in the fifth game of the 2003 season (University of California, Berkeley).

He set several school records during his time there, and he still holds the Cal career record for the lowest percentage of passes intercepted, at 1.95 percent.

After an impressive junior season in which he threw 24 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions, he decided not to play his senior year in order to enter the 2005 NFL Draft.

Aaron Rodgers’s Professional Career

Rodgers was initially confident that he would be drafted by the San Francisco 49ers, the team he grew up rooting for, but after they selected Alex Smith from Utah, he was selected as the 24th overall pick by the Green Bay Packers.

He spent his rookie season in the NFL as Brett Favre’s backup quarterback, a position he held until 2007. He received very little actual playing time during this period.

When Favre announced his retirement in 2008, Rodgers was promoted to starting quarterback. Although Favre did eventually come out of retirement, he was traded to the New York Jets. In his first season as a starter, he threw for over 4,000 yards and 28 touchdowns with only 13 interceptions.

He later helped lead the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XLV in 2011. He was named Super Bowl MVP for his pivotal role in his team’s championship victory.

Despite not having won a second Super Bowl, Rodgers has remained one of the top performers in professional football. He has the most consecutive games without throwing multiple interceptions (41 games in a row) and the lowest regular season interception percentage among current quarterbacks.

He is also one of only seven quarterbacks in NFL history to pass for over 1,000 yards in a single postseason, and one of only five quarterbacks in NFL history to have a passer rating of at least 110 over multiple seasons of play.

Previously, Rodgers and Ryan Braun, a Milwaukee Brewers player, had their names on a restaurant in the Milwaukee area. However, the restaurant was forced to close following Braun’s PED scandal.

Rodgers is the first active NFL player to own a share of an NBA team. He attained this status in April 2018, when he was announced as a new limited partner in the Milwaukee Bucks ownership group.

Rodgers has also appeared in commercials for brands such as State Farm Insurance and Pizza Hut, as well as numerous local Wisconsin-based campaigns. In fact, Forbes considers Rodgers’ multi-million dollar deal with State Farm (estimated to be around $2-3 million) to be “one of the richest endorsement deals in the NFL.”

Adidas, Prevea Healthcare, Bergstrom Automotive, Sharpie, and IZOD are among the other brands with which he has endorsement agreements. He appeared in a segment on the second season of the sketch comedy show “Key & Peele” alongside fellow Packers teammate Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and several other NFL players.

Aaron Rodgers’s Personal Existence

Rodgers lived in Suamico, Wisconsin, a northern suburb of Green Bay, until 2017. He spends the offseason in Los Angeles, California.

He also has a home in Del Mar, California. From 2014 to 2017, he was in a relationship with actress Olivia Munn, and from 2018 to July 2020, he was romantically linked to NASCAR driver Danica Patrick.
