Travis began her professional career as a musician in 1986, as the bassist in the Los Angeles band The Lovedolls, inspired by Dave Markey’s cult films Desperate Teenage Lovedolls and Lovedolls Superstar.

They then released the album Love One Another in 1989. 

Travis joined the power-pop trio The Rails the same year.

She has been a touring and studio bass player since the early 1990s, frequently adding backup vocals as well. 

Her first engagement in 1992 as a Promethea Pendragon dancing with elves during “Stonehenge” at the Universal Amphitheater and playing lead bass on “Big Bottom” in Phoenix, AZ was with Spinal Tap on the Break Like the Wind Tour.

In 1995, she shared the stage with Beck and Elastica, performing back-to-back sets on the Lollapalooza tour that both groups were on.

Her next significant tour as a bassist was with Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes and His Problem and Exene Cervenka (X) project Original Sinners in 2004.

Go-Go’s
