A Bulgarian-Canadian composer who arranged more than 40 works that were performed by a variety of orchestras, including the Sofia Philharmonic. Alexandra Fol was born on July 11, 1981, in Sofia, Bulgaria. She was selected as one of four composers to write a children’s piece for the Montreal Symphony Orchestra’s Children’s series, an ensemble in which Louis Lortie played piano. She studied composition at Boston University and at the Eastman School of Music where she was taught by Robert Morris and Richard Cornell.
