Allen Ludden was born in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, on October 5, 1917.

Allen’s father worked as an ice dealer, and his mother was a housewife. His father died a year after he was born from the Spanish flu, which had become a worldwide epidemic at the time.

The family moved around for a few years after their marriage, so Allen lived in Waupaca, Janesville, Antigo, and Elkhorn before settling in Texas.

He received his education in the state, and after graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Texas, where he earned a degree in English, which he completed in 1940.

In terms of enrollment, the university is one of the largest in the state, and it is home to a number of well-known alumni.

Following graduation, he continued his education by pursuing a Master’s degree in English, which he completed in a year before joining the US Army.

A year later, while working on the play “Critic’s Choice,” he fell in love with actress Betty White.

They were both divorcees, and he had to propose to her twice before she agreed. They married in 1963 and were together until his death.

Since then, White has not remarried, even telling Larry King in an interview that she has no desire to pursue anyone else because she has already had the best.

Following his death, a walkway at the Los Angeles Zoo was named in his honor, and an artificial lake in his hometown was also renamed in his honor.

As a memorial to him, White donated a dog named Ludden to the organization Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Many of his personal belongings are housed at his hometown’s Free Public Library, which was also donated by White.

Ludden joined the army as an entertainer, rising through the ranks to become an officer and serving in the Pacific theater.

He served in the military for five years, rising to the rank of captain by the time he was discharged; he was also awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service.

After returning home, he began working on radio and for a magazine, as well as becoming a youth adviser.

During this time, he hosted a show aimed at teenagers called “Mind Your Manners.” The show received enough praise to earn an honorable mention at the 1950 Peabody Awards.

Following his radio work, he began accepting television projects, primarily as a game show host.

He was the host of the student quiz show General Electric, or “GE College Bowl,” and later rose to prominence as the host of the CBS game show “Password.”

Each contestant would be paired with a celebrity in the game, and they would have to figure out mystery words using only single word clues.

The show was a success, and “TV Guide” named it one of the best game shows of all time.
