The Dallas Police Apartment dismissed Amber as a result of the event. She was charged with manslaughter after her arrest. However, she was charged with murder by a grand jury.

In early October of this year, the trial came to a close. Amber was found guilty of the murder and sentenced to ten years in prison. However, after five years, she would be eligible for parole.

Botham’s mother, on the other side, was less understanding. She accused the Dallas police department of corruption and argued that it needed to be cleaned up on the inside.
