His paternal grandparents were from the Campania towns of Nocera Inferiore and Tramonti, and his maternal grandparents were from Sicily (his grandfather from Messina).
Chris Cuomo, his younger brother, is a CNN journalist. Margaret Cuomo, a well-known radiologist, is his older sister. He graduated from St. Gerard Majella’s School in 1971 and Archbishop Molloy High School in 1975, according to his education.
