Apollonia Kotero was born Patricia Kotero on August 2, 1959, in Santa Monica, California, the oldest of her parents six children.

She dropped out of high school at the age of 16 to pursue a modeling career.

Kotero began her career as a model. She went on to appear in television shows such as “ChiPs,” “Fantasy Island,” “Tales of the Gold Monkey,” and “Knight Rider” after winning the Miss San Pedro beauty pageant.

In 1982, she had the opportunity to appear in music videos for Ray Parker Jr. and Eddie Money. Two years later, Kotero appeared in “The Mystic Warrior,” a television film. Following this, Kotero was cast in the film “Purple Rain.”

She joined the girl group Apollonia 6 and released several songs, including “In a Spanish Villa,” “Happy Birthday, Mr. Christian,” “A Million Miles,” and “Sex Shooter.”

Kotero also produced the song “Manic Monday” for the album “Apollonia 6,” which went on to become a huge hit.

She later contributed vocals to Prince’s song “Take Me with U,” which was also a huge hit. She later sang several songs by herself. Later, in order to appear in the CBS soap opera “Falcon Crest,” Kotero left Prince’s group.

Apollonia, the American performer’s debut solo album, was released in 1988 and included the hits “Since I Fell for You,” “Mismatch,” and “The Same Dream.”

The following year, Kotero produced “Ministry of Vengeance,” which was followed by “Back To Back” and “Black Magic Woman.”

She also had roles in the Italian films “La Donna di una Sera” and “Cattive Ragazze.” She was soon cast in the television shows “Air America,” “Sliders,” and “Latin Beat.”

In 2005, she founded Kotero Entertainment, a multi-platform entertainment company that works with filmmakers to create children’s animated TV shows and feature films.

Four years later, Kotero contributed to the “When Doves Cry” album cover for “Purplish Rain,” the 25th-anniversary tribute to the “Purple Rain” album from “Spin” magazine.
