Brandon Brooks- Professional Career

Brooks was inactive for the first ten games of his rookie season. After that, he was employed as a backup for the final six games and two playoff games. He became a starter in the 2013 season and remained there throughout his career with the Texans.

Brooks signed a five-year, $40 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on March 9, 2016. Brooks, along with right tackle Lane Johnson, was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2019, after starting all 16 games at right guard.

Because his team advanced to the Super Bowl, he was unable to participate in the Pro Bowl. Brooks’ first Super Bowl victory came in Super Bowl Lll, when the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots 41-33. On December 17th, 2018, Brooks was named to his second Pro Bowl.

In the wildcard round, they defeated the Chicago Bears. In the divisional round, they were defeated by the New Orleans Saints. Brooks suffered a torn Achilles tendon as a result of the loss.

In 2019, he returned after incorporating Kung fu into his off-field training. Brook signed a four-year, $54.2 million contract extension with the Eagles that runs through the 2024 season on November 11, 2019.

He was named to his third straight Pro Bowl on December 17, 2019. Brooks tore his Achilles tendon on June 15, 2020, and will miss the 2020 season. He was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list at the start of training camp on August 4, 2020, and on reserve at the start of the regular season on September 5.
