He started for the Tigers in the third season in 2007.

He was one of 35 quarterbacks chosen to the Manning Award Watch List in 2007. 

Cox struggled to establish consistency behind an offensive line that featured three rookies for much of the 2007 season.

As a result, he was benched for the Mississippi State game in favor of freshman quarterback Kodi Burns. 

Then he came back and defeated strong teams like Florida, Arkansas, and Alabama.

The Tigers defeated Alabama 17-10 in the 2007 Iron Bowl. 

With six consecutive victories over its opponent, the team set a school record. 

He became only the second Auburn quarterback to go 3-0 versus Alabama, following former QB Jason Campbell.

Cox’s most recent victory came in the 2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl, when he led Auburn to a 23-20 victory over Clemson. 

Cox completed a career-high 25 passes, but it was Burns who sealed the victory in overtime with a touchdown run.

He was one of 35 quarterbacks chosen to the Manning Award Watch List in 2007.

Cox ended his senior year’s regular season with a passer rating of 117.58. 

Cox has 6,748 career passing yards, a 59.12% completion percentage (525/888), and 42 touchdowns against 31 interceptions for a lifetime NCAA passer rating of 131.58 as of the 2007 Iron Bowl.
