Three athletes in Brusdar’s family encouraged him to play baseball. He grew up playing baseball on the streets because it wasn’t organized in his neighborhood and it was difficult for players to get noticed.

He was signed as an international free agent by the Minnesota Twins in 2014. The following year, he made his professional debut, playing a match against the Dominican Summer League Twins.
He was also a pitcher for the Gulf Coast Twins and the Elizabethton Twins. He began his career with the Cedar Rapids Kernels in 2018 and was later promoted to the Fort Myers Miracle. He joined the Pensacola Blue Wahoos in 2019. In September of the same year, he was selected and promoted to the Major Leagues.
He debuted in the major leagues against the Detroit Tigers. In ten games, he pitched 9.2 innings and struck out ten batters. He was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on February 10, 2020, for Kenta Maeda, Jair Camargo, and cash considerations.
Due to the covid 19 pandemic, he only played in 23 games as the season was cut short. He appeared in games against the Tampa Bay Rays, Atlanta Braves, and the second game of the wild card series.
