Close holds the University of Michigan career home run and run-scoring records with 46 and 190, respectively.
Casey Close was drafted in the 1986 MLB Draft after finishing his college career. The New York Yankees selected him in the seventh round of the draft.
Casey had previously played in the minor leagues for the Oneonta Yankees, Albany Colonie Yankees, Columbus Clippers, and Calgary Cannons.
