She won two Junior Olympic gold medals.

The next year, she fought in her first open-division competition, the National Police Athletic League Championships, where she won the middleweight title and qualified for the United States Olympic Trials.

In addition, she set a record of 25 wins without a loss in April 2011 and won her weight class in the Women’s Elite Continental Championships in Cornwall, Ontario, against three-time defending world champion Mary Spencer.

She won the middleweight division at the 2012 Olympic Trials by defeating Franchon Crews, the 2010 world champion, reigning national champion, and Pittsburgh’s Tika Hemingway.

Furthermore, Claressa defeated Sydney LeBlanc and Mery Rancier in all eight rounds to headline the “Detroit Brawl” on June 16, 2017.

In addition, on August 4, 2017, she upset reigning champion Nikki Adler in Detroit for the WBC super-middleweight belt and the IBF super-middleweight belt.
