Danny began his career as a football player. He assisted his high school football team to a second-place finish in the Class 5A state championship in 2004. During his time at university, he appeared in 52 games, making 13 starts, and recording 196 tackles.

He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys in 2010. He was a member of their special team. He was also seen competing against the Chicago Bears and other clubs.

In 2013, he elected to stay with the team even though his salary was being decreased in order to avoid getting waived. Rich Bisaccia, the new special team coordinator, modified his responsibilities, which hindered his tackle tricks.

He signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears on March 18, 2014. His greatest performance came against the New York Jets when he had 10 tackles on defense. On May 14, 2015, he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys to replace special teamer, C.J.

Spillman. He had four special teams tackles and was not re-signed at the end of the season. Following his retirement, he became a fan of the show Survivor, and he is currently one of the casts in the 41st Season of Survivor, battling with other participants for the top prize of $1 million.
