David Amess- Biography
David Amess mostly known as Sir David Anthony Andrew Amess was a British politician. He was recently stabbed multiple times during a constituency surgery in Leigh-on-sea and died at the scene. He served as a member of parliament for Southend West from 1997 until his death in 2021. He previously served as the Member of Parliament for Basildon from 1983 to 1997. He was also a conservative party member.

David Amess was born in Essex on March 26, 1952, the son of James Amess and Maud Martin. His father, James Amess, used to be an electrician, and his mother, Maud Martin, used to be a dressmaker.
He was raised as a Roman Catholic. His mother passed away on October 12, 2016, at the age of 104. Amess attended St Anthony’s Junior and Infant School before enrolling in St Bonaventure’s Grammar School in the Forest Gate.
Later, he attended Bournemouth College of Technology, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and government.
He was educated at St John Baptist Primary School in Bethnal Green, where he only stayed for one year from 1970-71, and later; he worked briefly as an underwriter while also working as a recruitment consultant.

David married Julia Arnold and had one son and four daughters with her. Julia used to work for her husband as a part-time caseworker.
In 2005, his son, who was named after him, was sentenced to four years in prison for smashing a bottle of champagne over the head of a man in a nightclub. Katie Amess, the couple’s elder daughter, is a well-known actress in the industry. The Amess Family was a pet lover who had many animals as pets.

He was stabbed several times by a person whose identity has been withheld. However, the accused has been barred from possessing a knife. He was treated in a hospital and was declared dead on Friday, October 15, 2021.
A 25-year-old man has been charged with murdering the officer who was present at the scene and from whom a knife was recovered.
At the moment, he is being held in custody at an Essex Police station, where officers have confirmed that the suspect is the only person responsible for this suspicious killing, and they are not looking for any other suspects.
David Amess- Professional Career
David Amess was born and raised in Essex, where he studied economics and government at the prestigious Bournemouth University. Before entering politics, he worked briefly as a teacher, underwriter, and recruitment consultant.
In 1982, he was elected as a Conservative councillor for Redbridge, and in 1983, he was elected as the MP for Basildon.
He also ran for a seat in the 1992 elections, but boundary changes rendered it unviable, and he was elected MP for Southend West in 1997, a position he held until his death in 2021. He was a member of Parliament for nearly 24 years.
While serving in government positions, his highest position was as Parliament Private Secretary, which he held for nearly ten years. He was a well-known backbencher who was a member of the selected committee and was the sponsor of several pieces of legislation.
He was a supporter of the “ban on fox hunting.” His political views were based on social conservatism, which included support for the death penalty and Brexit. He was of Catholic ethnicity and was anti-abortion. He married in 1983, and the couple had five children together before his death.
