Debbie began her journalism career as an intern at MTV while still in college. She stayed on at MTV after college, rising through the ranks to become the UnFiltered show’s organizer.

In 1997, she worked as a production assistant for MTV before being cast as the youngest co-host on Barbara Walters’ talk show The View.

She joined the TV Guide Channel as one of their first on-air broadcasters in 1999, and in 2004 she co-hosted the show Good Day Live.

However, the show was terminated in 2005 after she was injured and momentarily blinded while doing a stunt during firefighter training. She covered the Golden Globe Awards for E! Network in 2006 and anchored The Daily 10, the channel’s pop culture show.
