DeRay Davis is a professional basketball player. Davis was born on August 5, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois, as Antoine DeRay Davis and raised in Robbins and Dolton.

He began his career in show business as a stand-up comedian, performing in a variety of comedy clubs. He got his big break while performing at Atlanta’s Laffapalooza Festival.

Davis portrayed Ray Ray in the film Barbershop. Davis moved to Los Angeles after that gig and won the Comedy Central Laugh Riots Competition. Since then, he has appeared in over 30 films, including Barbershop 2: Back in Business (2004), The Fog (2005), School for Scoundrels (2006), Scary Movie 4 (2006), Jumping the Broom (2011), 21 Jump Street (2012), G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013), Meet the Blacks (2016), and many others.

In addition to his acting and comedy careers, Davis has appeared on many rap albums and music videos, including Kanye West’s The College Dropout and Late Registration, both of which he impersonated Bernie Mac, and Three 6 Mafia’s music video for “Doe Boy Fresh.”

Jones was born and raised in Houston, Texas, while his older brother was born and raised in Chicago. According to reports, Jones’ father (also Davis’ father) was a drug dealer who was assassinated when Jones was only 12 years old. Their mother worked as a DJ.

Jones majored in psychology while attending college in Santa Monica. He is best known for his work with rapper Ludacris, whom he featured on the singles “Celebrity Chick” and “Small World” alongside Chingy.

He was signed to Def Jam through Ludacris’ Disturbing the Peace, but he left the label later.
