Doris’s biological family was unknown. Her only relic from her childhood was a photograph of herself with a toothy smile, a large mess of hair on top, and a very young face.
Doris Hancox was born in Chicago, Illinois, and considers herself a Chicagoan. She did, however, relocate to California when she was a child.
