Emily started her career while still in college when she worked for NewsWatch 16 in New York. During the summer, she also worked as a WCVB intern in the medical news unit. She began her professional career as a video journalist with Capital News 9 as Saratoga Country Bureau Chief in December 2003.

She had two responsibilities while she was there: presenting the station’s main coverage and contributing to “Capital Tonight,” their weekly political show.

Emily departed this channel after almost two years to begin working as a reporter for WSYX/WTTE in April 2007. Emily covered public and government policing for ABBC6/FOX28 throughout her time there, but she departed in February of the following year to join WCVB-TV as a reporter and anchor.
