Evan Mobley is an American personality who plays basketball professionally for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA. He previously played for the USC Trojans in college. The Cleveland Cavaliers selected him third overall in the NBA Draft 2021.
Evan Mobley was regarded as a five-star recruit and was ranked as one of the top three players in the 2020 recruiting class. On August 5, 2019, he committed to play basketball for USC, turning down offers from UCLA, Washington, and other major NCAA Division I programs. Later, he rose to become one of the program’s top players.

Evan Mobley was born on June 18, 2001. He was raised alongside his older brother, Isaiah. He and his older brother Isaiah started playing basketball at a young age with the help of their father, who was also a former basketball player.
Evan was initially hesitant to play basketball, but he became interested in eighth grade. He was nearly 6’4″ tall in eighth grade. Later, as a freshman at Rancho Christian School in California, he began playing school basketball. He was a teammate of his older brother Isaiah, a five-star recruit in the 2019 class, for the first three years of his career.
As a junior, he averaged around 19.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.7 blocks per game while playing basketball at his California high school. He was named California Gatorade Player of the Year as well as The Press-Enterprise Player of the Year.
Evan led his basketball career as a senior, averaging 20.5 points, 12.2 rebounds, 5.2 blocks, and 4.6 assists per game while playing for Rancho Christian School. He finished with a 22-8 overall record.

Mobley made his USC debut on November 25, 2020, scoring 21 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in a 95-87 victory over California Baptist. On March 11, 2021, in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament, he scored a career-high 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks in a 91-85 win over Utah. In a 72-70 semifinals loss to Colorado, he scored 26 points for the second time, grabbed 9 rebounds, and blocked 5 shots.
The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Mobley third overall in the 2021 NBA Draft. On August 3rd, he finalized his contract with the Cavs, and on August 8th, 2021, he made his summer league debut with an 84-76 loss to the Houston Rockets, in which he scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks in 28 minutes. On October 20, 2021, he made his NBA debut, scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in a 132-121 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
