Freddie Davies was born on July 21, 1937, in England. With actor Bill Owen (who famously co-starred with Peter Sallis on the BBC sitcom The Last of the Summer Wine), Davies wrote and recorded a song titled “So Lucky.” The single became a major hit in South America, Brazil, and the Philippines. Following his service in the British Army’s Pay Corps, he began performing a stand-up comedy act. He attracted many fans and was soon featured on such television programs as The Tom Jones Show and Sunday Night at the London Palladium.
