Eugenie began her professional career in 2005, when she was 12 years old, by competing in the Open Super 12 competition. Her abilities soon earned her the ITF in 2008.

The following year, she stunned Toronto by defeating Quebecer Marianne Jodoin to win the Canadian Under-18 Indoor Championship.

Despite this, Eugenie Bouchard was unable to advance past the semi-finals of the Australian Open junior singles event, losing to Monica Puig.
