DePaul worked as a private investigator after graduating and wrote for The Washington Post. 

He relocated to Los Angeles in 1998 to direct his comedy piece, Motherlove. 

When CAA commissioned him and writer Hank Nelken to make a short film parody “Jerry Maguire,” they called it “Jerry Mashugana” at the time. 

Greg and Hank were immediately hired by New Line, Fox, MGM, and Disney to write comic scripts.

They wrote Saving Silverman, a Sony Pictures and Village Roadshow Productions film starring Jack Black, Jason Biggs, and Amanda Peet. 

Killer Bud, a feature-length comedy, was produced independently. 

Greg has served on the Writers and Actors Lab’s Board of Directors.
