The claims gathered traction (including a conspiracy idea that he had employed vibrating a*al beads) after Carlsen resigned from their Julius Baer Generation Cup online match after making only one move.
Some saw Carlsen’s choice to withdraw halfway through as proof of Hans’ cheating.
