Civil rights activist and politician who spent four terms in the Georgia House of Representatives and six terms in the Georgia Senate. He was chairman of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People from 1998 to 2010. Horace Julian Bond was born on January 14, 1940, in Tennessee. He disapproved of George W.
