Bell began playing football in high school, where he was a quarterback, wide receiver, and cornerback.

His team won the Pacific-10 Conference championship in 1998, and he led the team with 38 tackles and passes defended (14).

The Dallas Cowboys signed him as an undrafted free agent in the 2001 NFL Draft. 

He was a gunner on his squad and led the team in tackles with 21, however, he was waived on September 1, 2002. 

The next day, he signed with the Houston Texans and became a member of the franchise’s inaugural season. 

Despite missing the first three games due to a fractured right wrist, he led the team with 14 special teams tackles that season. 

He was second on the team with 15 special teams tackles in 2003.

On March 13, 2006, he was signed as an unregistered free agent by the New York Giants after three years of playing experience with the Texans. 

Jason was unable to avoid injury, as he shattered his right forearm despite playing four games. 

After having back surgery, he eventually retired from football in 2008.

He joined the Masters Private Client Group after retiring.
