Jennifer Rene Psaki was born on December 1, 1978, in Stamford, Connecticut. Her parents are James R. Psaki and Eileen D. Medley.

Her father is a retired real estate developer who founded the Connecticut real estate development companies Groton Community and Groton Multifamily.

Her mother, on the other hand, is a psychologist in private practice in Greenwich.

Josiane J. Colazzo and Robert E. Medvey are her stepparents. She is of Irish, Greek, and Polish descent.
