Douglas’s career began in Borders local newspapers, and she then headed Border TV’s Look Around news magazine in 1993 before moving on to host BBC Scotland’s rugby union coverage on Sportscene in 1997.

She joined Sky Sports in 1999 as a sports news presenter and covered both rugby and Golden League athletic activities.

Jill returned to the BBC in 2003 as one of the major rugby union presenters, and she also covered cycling and other events such as the Olympic Games.

She has also been on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Fighting Talk on multiple occasions.

In 2013, Jill hosted the ITV4 coverage of the Haikou World Open and Champion of Champions Snooker.
