Junaid Jamshed: Birth, Parents, Siblings & Education

Junaid’s full name is Khan Junaid Jamshed, and he was born to a retired colonel in the Pakistan Air Force. He was born on September 3rd, 1964, and has three siblings: Omar Jamshed, Humayun Jamshed, and Muneeza Jamshed.

Jamshed attended International Boarding High School in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, and aspired to be a pilot in the Pakistan Air Force. He, on the other hand, was unable to make it due to his poor eyesight.

He then returned to school and earned a BA in mechanical engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore.

Junaid Jamshed: Professional Career

Junaid Jamshed began his singing career while still a university student. He was the lead singer of the rock band Nuts and Bolts before joining Vital Signs and becoming its lead vocalist.

Keyboardist Rohail Hyatt and bassist Shahzad Hasan are also members of the Vital Signs rock band.

During their time together, the Vital Signs released four albums, the first of which was Vital Sign 1, which was a huge success, selling far beyond expectations. Tum Mil Gaye and Dil Dil Pakistan are among the album’s hit songs.

Even after the band’s first album’s unexpected success, Jamshed was not determined to become a musician; instead, he pursued his dream of becoming a pilot for his country’s air force. It took a lot of convincing from his bandmates to keep doing music.

Vital Signs released its second album, Vital Signs 2, which, while not as successful as the first, paved the way for the band’s first tour in the United States.

Aitebar, the band’s third album, was released in 1993. Jamshed’s first contract as an actor was signed in the same year. It was also his only acting contract with Dhundle Raste.

In 1994, he decided to combine his solo career with his membership in the Vital Signs band. In the same year, he released his first solo album, Junaid of Vital Signs.

Hum Tum, the band’s fourth and final album, was released in 1995. The band struggled to stay together but were unable to do so as disagreements between members arose, eventually leading to their split.

Jamshed focused on becoming a solo artist after the Vital Signs disbanded, and in 1998, he released his second solo album, Us Rah Par. In addition to increasing his popularity, the album increased his earnings because it was one of the best-selling albums of the year.

Jamshed’s third and fourth albums were released in the following years. His third album, The Best of Junaid Jamshed, was released in 2000, and his last solo album, Dil Ki Baat, was released in 2001.

Junaid began to drift away from music gradually in 2001, and he began to avoid media attention. His lack of visibility in the music industry caused his fourth album to bomb on the charts.

Speculations about Junaid’s return to work as an engineer began to circulate, but he later mentioned starting a fashion design company.

The decision to withdraw from music was largely influenced by the 9/11 attack, after his tour in the United States failed miserably due to the heightened tensions in the west as a result of the attack.

In 2004, he officially ended his music career, declaring that he would devote his life to Islam full-time.
