Kalen DeBoer’s Biography

Kalen DeBoer is a well-known football coach in the United States. He is the University of Washington’s tenacious head football coach. He formerly worked as the head football coach at the University of Sioux Falls from 2005 to 2009.

From 2020 to 2021, he also worked at California State University, Fresno. During his stint at Sioux Falls, his team won three NAIA Football National Championships in 2006, 2008, and 2009.

DeBoer reconnected with Bob Young after two years in Washington. While working with Bob, he returned to his alma institution as offensive coordinator, a post he held from 2000 to 2004.

Following Young’s retirement, DeBoer was elevated as head coach on December 1, 2004. He was the head coach from 2005 to 2009, recording an overall score of 6703 and winning three NAIA national championships in 2006, 2008, and 2009.

In 2007, he also led his squad to a runner-up finish. Mike Van Diest, who won the title by defeating the Carroll Fighting Saints squads in 2005 and 2007, was responsible for two of DeBoer’s losses in Sioux Falls.

From 2010 until 2013, DeBoer was the offensive coordinator at Southern Illinois. He was aided by Dale Lennon, the head coach. In 2014, he returned to Eastern Michigan University, where he remained until 2016 under the direction of Chris Creighton.

From 2017 to 2018, he served as offensive coordinator at Fresno State under Jeff Tedford, a position he held for one year. In 2019, he held a post at Indiana under Tom Allen.

Under DeBoer’s direction, the Hoosiers averaged 443.6 yards per game and finished the season ranked second in the Big Ten.

DeBoer was named head football coach at California State University, Fresno in 2020. He was just appointed as the head football coach at the University of Washington, which he accepted with open arms on November 29th, 2021.

Nicole DeBoer is Kalen DeBoer’s wife. They’ve been happily married for a long time. Alexis and Avery are the names of the couple’s two daughters. However, it is unknown how the pair met or if they dated each other.
