Katie Sowers was born on August 7, 1986, in Hesston, Kansas, under the sign of Leo. The 34-year-old assistant coach is of white ethnicity and is of American nationality.  In the 2000s, she attended Hesston College and Goshen College. Katie Sowers began her American football career in the Woman’s Football Alliance while at Golem. She began her career with the West Michigan Mayhem before moving on to the Kansas City Titans.

She was a member of the United States women’s national American football team that won the 2013 IFAF Women’s World Championship. She retired from the WFA in 2016 due to a hip problem.

Sowers entered the NFL as a wide receiver intern with the Atlanta Falcons in the summer of 2016. She then joined the San Francisco 49ers as part of the Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship in June 2017. She was a seasonal offensive assistant until being promoted to offensive assistant in 2018.
