Michael struggled to make an impression in his first season, primarily owing to injuries; his numbers improved in his second season, but he wasn’t at his best.
He had his breakthrough season in 1997 when he had 14 sacks and was named to his first Pro Bowl.
Michael increased his sack total to 15 the next season, earning him a second Pro Bowl selection as well as an All-Pro selection.
Strahan’s following two seasons were disastrous, as he failed to make an impact on his team’s defensive game, averaging only 5.5 and 9.5 sacks per season.
