Kenny Wayne Brobst, or more commonly known as Kenny Wayne Shepherd, was born on 12 June 1977.
His father, Ken Shepherd, was a local radio host and possessed a sizable music collection that he was able to tinker with as a child.
He began playing guitar at the age of three after receiving a guitar toy from his grandmother and took it more seriously after meeting Stevie Ray Vaughn at one of his father’s gigs.
Shepherd also began to take music more seriously while attending Caddo Magnet High School.
He began writing music and recording demos for himself after studying his father’s music collection.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an American songwriter, singer, and guitarist who became famous for his chart-topping blues and jazz compositions.
Giant Records signed him to a recording contract at the age of sixteen after viewing his video performance at the Red River Revel Art Festival.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd released his first album, “Ledbetter Heights,” in 1995. The album was an instant success, reaching Platinum status. His chart-topping singles “Born with a Broken Heart” and “Deja Voodoo” were well-received by his fans and became US chart-toppers.
Not only did his debut album catapult him to fame, but it also significantly increased his net worth.
After three years, he released his second album, “Trouble Is…”, which also went platinum and featured chart-topping singles “True Lies” and “Blue on Black.”
