Kyle Busch is an American professional stock car racing driver who also owns his racing team. As of 2021, he is driving the number 18 Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Busch was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 2, 1985. He got his first driving lesson at the age of six, when he drove the car in the Las Vega family’s neighborhood. Busch used to help his father and an older brother named Kurt in the family garage.

In 2002, he graduated from Durango High School in Las Vegas a year early with honors to focus on his driving career. The following year, he made his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut, finishing 12th in the number 22 Chevrolet for WP Motorsports.

Kyle Busch’s Professional Career

Busch began the 2003 season as a development driver for Hendrick Motorsports. In April, he won his first career race at Nashville Superspeedway. Busch began his 2004 season by competing in a 200-mile ARCA Re/MAX Series race. Later on, he won the event by defeating Frank Kimmel.

He replaced Brian Vickers with the No. 5 Chevrolet and became a full-time driver in 2004 for the Busch Series season. Busch announced in October 2004 that he would be competing full-time in the Nextel Cup Series, replacing Terry Labonte in the number 5 Chevrolet. Following that, Busch won his first Sprint Cup race at California Speedway in September, winning the Sony HD 500.

At the age of twenty years, four months, and two days, he became one of the youngest people in history to win the title. Busch became the first driver in NASCAR history to win two national touring series on the same day in 2009.

He won the Truck Series San Bernardino County 200 as well as the Nationwide Series Stater Brothers 300. Kyle was involved in a multiple-car accident during an Xfinity Series race in 2015. Busch was assisted in getting out of his car at the time by medical personnel. He was placed on the stretcher after lying on the ground.

Ascension to prominence

He was later transported to Halifax Medical Center for further evaluation with medical assistance. Kyle was found to have a compound fracture in his right leg, a small fracture in his left foot, and a sprained left finger after a thorough examination.

Kyle Busch began the season with a victory at Busch Clash. He finished 14th in the Daytona 500 2021. He was also involved in the fiery last-lap crash that took out multiple cars, in which Kyle was also hit by Austin Cindric.
