Coorlim began his career as a writer at CBS-affiliated KOIN-TV in Portland, Oregon, in 1998. 

From 2000 to 2003, he worked as a Producer for Fox-affiliated KPTV. 

He afterward moved to WGTV in Washington, where he worked as a producer for Fox Television News until 2008.

Coorlim later joined CNN in 2008. 

He has perplexed the world by producing network documentaries and specials such as ‘Be the Change,’ ‘Witness to War,’ and ‘Sumatra: Paradise Lost?’

He was also involved in the fight against human trafficking.
