Butina is the founder of the “Right to Carry Arms” Russian Organization.
She was elected to the Altai Krai Public Council at the age of 19 in the last direct election for the Council.
Butina also launched her furniture retail business in Altai Krai at the age of 21.
In 2011, Maria also worked with Aleksandr Torshin.
He formerly served on the Federation Council.
Torshin was also a member of Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party.
