His career as a fighter began in the year 2017 and since then, he has been part of 11 MMA battles out of which he managed to win 8 matches by unanimous decision.

He initially started his career at the age of 14 but he quickly dropped out. Later in 2017, he played his first-ever match as a pro against Donelei Benedetto.

Matthew then continued to fight in championships like CFFC, UFC, Maverick MMA, etc. He won a match against Zulkarniyan Kamchybekov, Richard Patishnick, and Kris Gratalo in his formative years.

In 2020, he was slated to appear in UFC Battle Night Edwards Vs Edgar against Philip Rowe but he later also had to fight Carlton Minus in the same match.

He won the match with a unanimous decision and later appeared against Jason Witt. Matthew managed to achieve another win and also got the Performance of the Night Award. He is now linked with Clinch Academy and also plays as part of the Crazy 88 team.

Recently in 2021, he competed against Khaos Williams on UFC The Korean Zombie versus Ige but regrettably lost. He is currently slated to appear in the forthcoming match against Martin Sano Jr at UFC 266 on September 26th which marks a much-awaited comeback by his competitor.
