On November 26, 1961, Triola married Skip Ward, and they divorced on June 8, 1962. In 1964, Michelle was dating actor Lee Marvin. The couple, however, parted ways with their friend after 6 years of dating.

The pair were never married in the eyes of the law. She did, however, make a claim for financial support with Lee Marvin during their divorce. In 1976, Triola began dating Dick Van Dyke.

Michelle passed away on October 30, 2009, at Van Daye’s Malibu home. She had to leave the world due to lung cancer. She had undergone lung cancer surgery in April 2008, prior to the terrible episode.

Dick Van Dyke stated that while she was sick in bed, he sang and talked to her. He was doing the same thing that day till the nurse told him she was no longer living.
