Luttrell was traveling abroad with an army chopper on a training mission.

The helicopter crashed, resulting in an explosion. Luttrell’s back was broken in several places as a result of this.

While seeking medical attention and healing from his injuries, Luttrell agreed to participate in a clinical trial.
