Nathan Darrow: Professional Career

Darrow’s first film/TV role was in Civil War Stories in 2006, which exposed him to a wider audience and helped advance his entire acting career.
Darrow co-starred with Kevin Spacey in an international tour of Shakespeare’s Richard III.
Kevin was impressed with his acting and asked to be considered for a role in the Netflix show House of Cards, in which Spacey was already starring.
Darrow was cast as Edward Meechum, a Secret Service agent and the loyal bodyguard of Democratic congressman Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey).
“It was stacked with some very talented actors who were really right for House of Cards, so Kevin put a bunch of us up for it,” Darrow said of his audition.
Darrow’s character was killed after he took a bullet to protect Underwood, who had become President of the United States, and his role was extended to include the second, third, and fourth seasons when his character was killed after he took a bullet to protect Underwood, who had become President of the United States.
When asked if he was upset that his character was killed off, he responded, “I’m not.”
“It’s difficult to walk away from something you’ve been a part of.
There is the practical aspect of being an actor where the job ends, but we do that all the time.
Jobs always come to an end, and you move on to something else. But, more importantly, I thought it was the proper way to conclude his story.”
Darrow has become increasingly active in the small screen since his role ended, with appearances in Billions, Gotham, The Wizard of Lies, Preacher, and Rectify. Despite this, he continues to perform on stage.
He recently performed at the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival in Kansas City’s Southmoreland Park.
Kevin Spacey, his HOC co-star, was in the audience and even tweeted his support.

Nathan Darrow: Gender

Fans often wonder if actors who play gay characters onscreen are also gay offscreen, as was the case with Darrow, whose House of Cards character was a gay Secret Service agent who shared a kiss with his boss Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and was even involved in a threesome that included the president’s wife Claire Underwood (Robin Wright).
The kissing scene, as expected, sparked outrage on the internet.
Darrow had this to say about working with Kevin:
“I had a great time with everything. Hell, I liked flirting with him, and I liked it when he gave me dirty looks, gave me the job, or almost fired me. He’s a f**king amazing actor.”
The preceding statement is enough to make one think of Darrow as a gay man, but the scenes were purely fictitious because Darrow is NOT GAY!
