Nathan Eovaldi attended Alvin High School in Alvin, Texas, and as one might expect, he was an active member of his school’s baseball team.

He graduated and went on to Texas A&M University on a baseball scholarship, which came as a result of his impressive pitching abilities in high school.

Nathan Eovaldi: Professional Career

He turned down the scholarship when he was drafted in the 11th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Following his signing with the team, he received a $250,000 signing bonus and began working his way up through the lower leagues to the main team.

The pitcher spent 2008 with the Gulf Coast Dodgers in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League, 2009 with the Great Lakes Loons in the Class A Midwest League, and 2010 and 2011 with the Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino in the Class A-Advanced California League and Chattanooga Lookouts in the Class AA Southern League, respectively.

Nathan earned a spot on the main team to play in the MLB after impressing in the minor leagues. He made his debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks, putting in an impressive performance that he continued to put in throughout the season.

He spent his entire career with the Diamondbacks before being traded to the Miami Marlins in 2012.

Nathan Eovaldi joined his new team in July 2012, and true to form, he hit the ground running with a win against the San Diego Padres in his first game.

In his final season with the Marlins (2014), the pitcher who bats and throws with his right hand started a career-high 33 games. Following this, the New York Yankees approached him after the Miami Marlins traded him for David Phelps and Martin Prado.

In April 2015, he made his Yankees debut in a game against his eventual team, the Boston Red Sox, which ended in a loss.

Despite this, he improved his games and produced impressive results for his team, despite suffering a couple of injuries along the way.

Eovaldi was diagnosed with elbow inflammation in September 2015 and missed the majority of the 2016 season due to a torn flexor tendon and partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. The pitcher underwent Tommy John surgery to correct the injury, but by November of that year, he had been traded to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Coming over to the Rays on a one-year deal with an option for an extension, the Alvin native missed the entire 2017 season while recovering from surgery, but his 2018 option was exercised.

However, because of the loose bodies on his elbow, which he was diagnosed with in March 2018, the Rays decided to send him to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for Jalen Beeks. So far, Nathan’s time with the Red Sox has seen his career take a turn for the better.

Nathan’s career has been rewarding; his most recent contract pays him approximately $2 million per year as his average salary, with an adjusted salary of $731,204.

Though we don’t know what his current net worth is, we can assume it’s in the millions of US dollars.

Eovaldi, who has played for a number of teams in his MLB career, has a career strikeout total of 636 and a 4.17 earned run average.

The couple married and were pronounced husband and wife sometime in 2011. She gave birth to their son in June 2014.
